To do good dreams + crazy ideas {one year after leaving my day job}

A year ago when I left my day job, I can honestly say that I didn’t know what was going to happen. We didn’t have a years worth of my salary saved, in fact all we had was a $3,000 retirement account that I would be leaving my job with. All I knew was that the words from my boss kept playing in my head, “I’m sorry Erin, anymore women just don’t get to be at home full time with their children.

I happened to disagree.

Although I was incredibly scared of leaving financial security my desire to be home was huge. I knew that I was talented enough to create an online business that I was passionate about and could bring in some money. I just didn’t know what.

I worked harder on this business, than I ever have before. At one point my husband said, “You know you actually work more now than you did when you had a full time job.”

Darn right. When your passion and purpose align to create a business it doesn’t feel like work. It feels good.
In the past year, so many people have asked me, How do I know when it’s the right time to leave my day job?”

I knew it was time to leave when my desire was greater than my fear.

And I’m happy to report that my faith and hard work paid off- my income is now greater than it was at my “secure” day job.

Your dream may feel silly to say, but it is YOUR DREAM. Own it, speak it and believe it. The worst that can happen is it won’t come true. Being afraid of failure is a waste of YOUR TIME. If failure stops you from going after your dream, then you have failed miserably. Own the dream that is in your spirit with all of your being and DO NOT apologize for it.

It is yours for a reason.

 I am a proud “crazy one” and today I raise my glass, or my cup of tea rather to every crazy woman with a do good + crazy idea-and I say GO!
